I am from crazy
I am from crazy
The roar of an early morning engine
The smell of motor oil and grease
A dream of restoring cars.
I am from the strange selections
Of music such as
3 days grace, Kenny Chesney
Metallica, Rob Zombie
And Bullet for My Valentine.
I am from the childhood memories of
Toys story, lion king
And the torn arm
Of a bear my mom won for me.
I am from mothers constant nagging
About things like:
“The Government is corrupt”
“Life’s a box of empty chocolates.”
And my dad saying:
“Your moms insane because she try’s the same thing over and over
And expects something new to happen.”
I am from a unique style
A pair of dress shoes that don’t fit
A T shirt 5 years old that still fits
An empty dresser
But a clothing covered floor.
I am from a heart disorder
That prevents me from playing sports
Yet I love to run
Play basketball, football
And swim long distances.
I am from a weird family
Far away dreams
And strange music
Some would say I’m crazy
I say I’m normal
