To Prove You Wrong

I want to prove you wrong,
and show you up as the coward
that gave up
too quick.
I'm gonna prove to you
and everybody else,
I'm not as helpless
as you painted me.
I'm not so very pathetic
if you give me time
to prove my stength.
If I push you away
it's because I'm grasping
at my own self hatred
in an attempt to understand it.
And I takeover the battle,
struggling to upperhand it.
Maybe if you stuck around
you'd see:
Sometimes.
Just sometimes.
I win.
