If this is all I am allowed,
I am content,
For merely being in your presence allows my spirits to take flight,
Soar.
A simple glance in your direction makes my heart,
My body's metronome,
Skip a beat,
And fall into a more comfortable rhythm,
Despite increase in speed.
Oh, how I wish you knew you are the subject of my adoration,
And of late,
My muse,
Though Shakespeare himself could never adequately describe your beauty.
The radiance of your smile is dazzling,
Far outshining the sun.
Your eyes sparkle like a night sky,
Making me want to stare forever.
God help me, I'm in love,
However forbidden,
However unanswered,
However unknown,
I'm in love,
And only the wrath of God shall tear it asunder,
Though,
I fear it is the wrath of God I have invoked.
So, for fear of divine retribution,
For fear of rejection,
For fear of love,
I wait in the wings,
Forever forced to be content with being content.
