Conveniently Versatile Tofu

Conveniently versatile tofu,
It's tasteless and squishy and bland.
But when you add some sauces to it,
Tofu tastes quite grand!

Teriyaki, tomato, alfredo, and cheese.
Tofu can taste as you please!
Baked in a casserole,
Fried in a pan.
Stir fried with mushrooms,
You'll be quite a fan!

It can taste like pork,
It can taste like chicken.
Conveniently versatile tofu,
It can be very finger licking!

I wrote this piece when I was around 11 years old. I've been a vegetarian since I was 7 and this poem was a silly sort of defense of tofu, as many of my friends made fun of me for eating it.

I do not like tofu, but I do like people who make lifestyle choices based on deeply held ethical principles and stand up for themselves when they are under attack. How wonderful to express your feelings so positively in a lovely poem!
