First place seems better
Than anything else
As that's what always remains
And though we're told forever
Be yourself and never lie
Yet how can I be something
I don't know how to be
Perhaps there is a something
That I never knew quite why
But I think the question should more be
You are somebody
Who am I?

The author's comments:
I came up with this poem when Emily Dickonson's "I'm Nobody, Who Are You?" was stuck in my head. I decided to flip it around, so the last two lines are allusions to her poem. Hope you enjoy!
