A Tree's Story
Startingwithspeed,
the fall from the above,
I begin
alone.
Veins
s p r e a d i n g
to that I will never
reach,
slowly…
growing
back to the sky.
Earth,
earth, incased on all sides, earth,
more earth.
Then weeds
above,
through which I peered.
Sap feuds, entangling
forever for flawed foundations.
And rapid impatient creatures tear
at
my
fla-
king
shield.
But I find my way
back to the sky.
