I guess it's just the season

I am a temporary boy,

fading out

a fad

my heart,
once available to lease
now closed,

and prone
-to seizure

but I will not sell,
myself, for less than I,
am worth,
or more than I am worthy

I refuse to be laid to rest
just to be dug up in the winter

it wasn't supposed to play out like this
we must have put the VHS in backwards
because everyone knows it's supposed to be
misery and then happiness

and since it is the reverse
I find myself adverse

and acrimonious

dire, dime a dozen, within tiring and trifling treason
loaded dice steam rolling over me

flattened out and freezing

until she touches my heart

and melts me

it's just
the seasonal, the seasonal

the seasonal freeze for the seasonal thaw

I feel humor is the best way to dillute a poem from being too depressing. Glad you enjoyed it.

I've never read a heartfelt poem that made we laugh. The " we must have put the vhs in backwards " was really cute and creative. Great poem
