Rising
Imagine
when the days turn colder
my earthbound brethren
imagine as the last leaf falls
rising up, imagine lifting
off the ground on a wind
along with a few lonely dandelion seeds
above the
broken tumbledown rockslide mountains
between icy peaks, glacier-worn, cracked
imagine yourself airborne
below you flashing rivers roaring falls
craggy cliffs dead trees like
hands reaching up snow
settling, still bound by gravity
even the eagle must sometimes land but
if you learn to believe if you learn to
imagine, everything will seem a little less
down to earth.
