They don't know
This very second
People come

And go

I know

One's life is finished
The world walks on
Undiminished

Another, celebrating
Newborn life
Forsakes all knowledge
Of the sense of strife

We walk
We don't know
One's joy; sorrow

Pain
Love
It's happening now
One in my world
The others don't feel

They feel only
What their world yields
I don't know how they feel

They don't know

I don't know

I know my world
But
What about yours?

The author's comments:
I wrote this after my grandma died; I looked around at school the next day and thought about the torment in my life that no one else knew about. Then that got me thinking about the things other people had going on that they were keeping in their own hearts.
