The world seems flawless,
Full of happily-ever-afters, butterflies
And rainbows, peace and
Never- ending- blue skies
But slowly as you grow
The fog fades with it’s mirages
And then you see that the world is
Far from superlative
There’s animosity and avarice
War and all types of evil
Then it seems as if the world you knew
Was only a dream
Some distant star a
Bazillion light years away
Shining oh too brightly
In the skies of your memories
So you think you might as well give up
And turn your back on that distant star…
But what I’ve realized is that you have to take things
One step at a time
Little acts of kindness
For if we keep doing this
And more and more people assist
We travel one step closer to that distance dream,
Where no cruel words are said
Where anything is possible
Where everyone can be themselves
Where there is trust
Where everyone is blissful
Where humans, animals, and Mother Nature live in peace
Where nation shall not lift sword up against nation
Where dreams are made of
Some people say that children can see things that adults can’t
I say that we need to see through a child’s eyes
Where there is no such thing as the impossible
Someday
We are going to reach that distant star,
Someday
