My Forbidden Fruit
You are the forbidden fruit
The perfect apple I cannot have
Others I may enjoy
But I want you.
You the sweet, unknown, love of my life.
But your selfish deity
Keeps you from me
Proclaims that you are untouchable
That one bite would surely mean death.
Then death it shall be
To not have you would mean a slow, agonizing death
But to die having tasted your splendor
That would be a glorious death indeed.
So don’t worry my sweet
This goddess cannot keep us apart
For someday I will venture to your tree
And snatch you from her grasp
Forever knowing
You are mine.
