I dropped the hints,
I told you straight up,
What will it take for you to understand?
I thought I made an imprint,
I acted like a lonely pup,
I even looked at you in band.
You smiled when I looked,
You talked like we were cool,
You gave me the impression that you wanted me.
I thought I had you hooked,
I guess I was a fool,
I should have taken the key.
At least now I know,
How much I meant to you,
Which was barely anything at all.
