Blackend Halo
i was able to create light
amongst those with delicate insight
led them through the fire
but let them burn in flames
in my soul, their screams are engraved
i was able to create substance of life
for those who begged
for those who cried
but for those who bled
i let them die
if i could take it all back
i only wish i could
all i see is black
and i know i should
through the looking glass
i wake
among the hopeless
so many mistakes
the cries i hear
burned in my skin
the tales of fear
boiling from within
i was able to create light
in every dark corner
a silver lining
until i was driven into temptation
now it no longer shines
down every corner
down every road
the choices ive made
made me the mourner
ungracefully bestowed
i was able to create the substance of life
crimson glistening in the radiance of their hearts
became the tainted murk
of something dark
the creation of artificial essence
forever d***ed in transparent incandescence
i stand before the land
drenched in the ruins of great ingenuity
i belong in this palace
where the d***ed fall
because of my disgrace
i was able to create light
amongst those with delicate insight
led them through the fire
but let them burn in flames
in my soul, their screams are engraved
i was able to create substance of life
for those who begged
for those who cried
but for those who bled
i let them die
if i could take it all back
i only wish i could
all i see is black
and i know i should
along with it
the exasperation of a smile
