And the birds will fly
Paint scattered in the sky
Blood red as I cry
Why?
Canceled, erased, removed
Eternal feeling of a deepening blue.
Beauty in her eye,
Why?
A thousand reasons to give up
Battered rusty pickup truck
Certain shade of sea blue
Falling out of love with you.
Goodbye silly smile
Tear in her eye
Why?
All the lights in the world
Glowing in one beautiful pearl
Love at last growing up
Look how we didn't give up
Words on the page make her move
Dance in her eye
Love in her life.

This is so fantastic. I love how you describe first love and loss so perfectly (at least that's my interpretation). Keep on writing!
