I had a dream
Many a year ago
I put it in a box
Swearing it would never grow

I had a dream
And I set it free
Told myself I didn't need It
It would never be

I found my dream yesterday
It had been in the back of my mind
All of my life
Waiting for me
To be ready for it

My dream had vacationed of course
Taking a holiday in my shadow
A brief rendezvous in my hair
It had invaded other dreams
Spilling it's ink on the pages of others
Soon to be just as forgotten as it was

But it seems that yesterday
I woke up
And it seems that I found something
Something that had been mine for
A very long time
I found my dream
And now I am happy
To call it mine
