The radiance of summer is unlike any other time of the year,
The golden sun's rays,
imprinting a smile from ear to ear.
If you listen closely enough, the laughter of children can be heard,
Along with every creature, and every morning bird.
Stand still, and close your eyes,
The world begins at our fingertips,
Reach upwards with me, and touch the clouded sky.
Breathe in what you can of this beauty,
No preservatives, no dyes.

The humid heat lingers through each day,
Carrying relentlessly into the night,
While the sun fades late, and the moon shines very bright.
This season we're in carries a perpetual light,
A dazzling afterglow tucked deeply into the midnight hour.

All the hues of green, the shades of amber and gray,
Are all seen on these few remaining summer days.
Your remaining heat slowly turns the lively green,
into a crisp shade of autumn,
Filled with reds, oranges, and yellows.
The upbeat mood, suddenly has become very mellow.

You've overstayed your welcome now,
With each deep golden sunset,
Your radiance begins to dull,
I can't help but smile,
As the leaves will soon begin to fall.

With one last heat wave,
It smolders the remaining leaves,
And allowed them to slowly fall from the trees.
The wind shifted now,
slowly turning into a cool, chilled breeze.
