What is this feeling?
Upon awakening I was reborn,
Laid my eyes upon you, and,
Despite our having met,
Saw you for the first time,
From a new perspective through old eyes.
Such beauty,
Radiating from the inside-out,
Did cause my voice to shake,
My hands to tremble,
My cheeks to flush with heat.
Oh, how my heart beat like a drum!
At the sight of your smile,
And the sound of your laugh.
But alas, my heart's desires can never be made known,
For if you knew my heart,
I fear you would flee,
For we desire opposites.
