Behind a Broken Mask

You look at me,
What do you see?
A pretty girl in pink,
Smiling brightly for a camera.
But a secret tear slips,
Behind a Broken Mask.
I look at me,
All I see,
A boy in black.
When he smiles in the mirror.
There's that feeling,
It has no name,
But it's like ecstasy.
If he could only be seen,
Behind a Broken Mask.
You take a second look,
To notice the fading scars,
Of an unhappy girl,
But a confident boy lies,
Behind a Broken Mask.
