I Will Never Know

I never knew what it felt like
To be embraced within her arms.
Never knew the gentle kiss
Nor the soft touch of her hand.

People who surround me
Talk about her sharp wit.
Talk about her stories,
Ones she never told me.

They talk about her joyful laugh
How gentle, yet so confidant.
How easily she could scare a man,
But could comfort a frightened child.

I sit and only listen,
Saddened by a simple fact-
That I will never know the woman,
That so many around me adore.

I will never know the wonderful lady,
The woman who they call my grandmother.

Awww.

This was a deep piece and it was beautiful because the emotion just flowed so well.

I love this. sweet, simple, yet powerful, touching. I think you could have added some more lines to emphasize (but not exaggerate) that the speaker has grown up, if that's what you're aiming for. but still a great job! keep writing. :)

It's very heartfelt,  it is sad that you never knew your grandmother, and you did an amazing job expressing it. You have a talent! :D

I really love this. You did very well with the progression that I didn't even realize it until the end of the poem. :) Great job, ChocoMint.
