"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." Eleanor Roosevelt

For why am I consumed by emptiness
Emptiness I can no longer endure
I takes away all of who I am
It eats holes in the fabric of my soul

I keep searching for the reason
In the darkest chasms of my heart
I ponder the perplexity
But with the growing emptiness
I do not part

As I stare out the window
At the world teeming with life
Its then that I understand
That the life I live will never suffice

I belong with the wind and careless sunlight
I was never meant to be where I am
I belong above the clouds and above sight
Away from everything I have known

For my wrists have been bound too long
To what society has made of me
Its time I be let free
Before my heart is too,
empty

I love this!!! It's amazing! Your words through this poem spoke to me, and I was simply captivated. Devine, flowing, I don't even know how to describe it! Definitely one of my favorites!

Wow the poem is just too great!! I have nothing more to say, your poem has spoken it all!!! When I read this poem in my mind's eye I could just imagine my previous grade's history book embeded with national struggle of India. The words of your poem has surmised what and all a mundane history book would have, albeit in lively manner!!!  5 stars for this and I just wish if Teenink had given 100 more stars for the rating of this poem!!!!!
