Whoever You Are

If I could grab
10,000 maps
And fill my pockets
With coins
To last
A hundred
Economy plane trips
And search
The world
For you,

I would.

If I could hire
A detective
To look
Inside my mind
And into my heart
And maybe,
Into my soul,
To see
Who you are,
And after that,
To stalk you
And find out
Your name,
Where you live,
And if you like
Oranges,

I would.

If I could visit
All
The radio stations
On this earth
And request
To broadcast a message
To all the countries
In all the languages
Known to man
Only
To let you know
That I’m here
Waiting
And Waiting
And waiting
For you,

I would.

I don’t yet know
Who you are
Or where you live
Or what
You like to do
Or whether or not
You like oranges.

But,
There’s this
Huge
Longing
Inside me—
A childish,
Human desire
To know
Who you are
And what day
Of what month
In what year
I would finally
Get to meet you—
A desire
That wants
To be granted
So badly
That if I could
Do all these things
And more
Just to fulfill
This selfish
Wish,

I would.

But then again,
I could.

Couldn’t I?
Don't they say
That
Everything
Is possible?
And that
When there
Is a will,
There is also
A way?

So

I most probably
Very most likely
Could.

But
I won’t.

Because doing that
Would never—
Could never,
Ever,
Bring me joy.

Instead,
I choose
To wait,
To rely,
On Him

To bring
You
To me
And me
To you
And us
Together

So even if
It takes

Days
And weeks
And months
And years

I’ll wait.

So,
When we finally meet,

Let’s eat oranges together.

Shall we?

Ohmygosh this is fantabulous! The format is incredible and the thought behind the piece is amazing. I like how you incorporated the cute little oranges thing even though it technically doesn't have to do with anything; oranges were only relevant when you wanted them to relevant and that was very creative. I love love Love LOVE this piece. Keep writing!

Wow, thank you for commenting! I haven't posted articles in a while actually, so your comments motivated me to do just that. :) And oh wow again. I read some of your poems. They. Are. Amazing. And you're actually saying that my work is fantabulous. *bow* I'm honored! Thank you, again, so much. I hope you keep writing too! :D
