A Simple Kiss
Her hands begin to shake,
As she fears for her own life’s sake.
She begins to bleed
As he does another sinful deed.
He hits her over and over
But still claims to love her.
Each time she believes,
Being stupid and naïve.
She cries in the night,
Not once putting up a fight.
No one would ever guess the truth,
Or how he ruined her youth.
She wonders why he causes her pain.
What did he gain?
The satisfaction of hearing he cries,
Or the satisfaction of her believing his lies?
Whatever the season,
She wonders the reason.
How could he get away with all of this
And fix it with just a simple kiss?
