The sky is falling,
or so they say...
Meteorites hit the ground
in puffs of dirty grey.

The dark is filled
with streaks of light.
A meteor shower
that lasts all night.

Oh the sky! The stars! The sights!
Discovery is such a blessed life!
What I would give to travel far..
the universe, the distant stars,
Just a breath aways from here.

The author's comments:
I've always loved looking up at the sky, watching shooting stars, just imagining what my life would be like if I could travel the stars. The darkness always inspired me even when I was a kid.
