What’s behind my smile, they ask so inquisitively

But I never answer them.

I’m not trying to be ill-mannered; they are just asking the wrong question.

It’s not a “what” it’s “who”.

Since you entered my life

The laughs have been louder, and the songs are way sweeter.

My north star in the midnight-blue sky

My quiet place in a land of chaos

You are an astounding expression of God’s love for all things sacred.

You give me the strength the stand alone,

But the weakness to never leave your side.

Nobody told you to steal my heart

Yet im glad you did it lacking my permission.

I see a better me through your eyes and for that I am eternally grateful.

This smile isn’t for you; it’s for ME, because of you. :)

I love the idea of being in love with someone. this piece is a testament to those who are lucky enough to experience it, whether its because of a significant other, a friend, a sibling, or parent.
