I start at the sound of my phone
I know it's you
It's been three hours since I saw you
I haven't slept in twenty-four
It's 2:30 in the morning
And you asking me to be at your door
I consider ignoring you
And pretending I'm asleep
But you know I'd never abandon you
In your time of need

The author's comments:
I wrote this once morning when my best friend texted me asking to meet her. It was really early and I hadn't slept in 24 hours and I almost just ignored her. But I couldn't leave her to feel sad alone.
