The Chase

August 16, 2011
By Anonymous

The shadow dances on the wall
Nothing tangible is here
You cannot hold it in your hands
Even so you still reach for it
It runs around in circles
And you follow like a dog
I don’t know when you started
But you haven’t just begun
We’ve all run in circles once
And we all have failed
We kid ourselves in thinking we
Turn water into gold
Pull the sword from the stone
Yet even so we still try
As our brow furrows
And the sweat streams
Madmen chase impossible dreams

I like this alot. Good that it isn't all in rhymes. Heavy subject presented with edgy feel. Nice choice. Do you have any more poems?

whoever wrote this must be philosopher type; "madmen chase impossible dreams" is perfect ending line. I'm printing this out.

I like that I can connect to this poem, sometimes I feel like I know I can do everything and everything, but sometimes, you just can't do it all. I like this, keep writing.
