My name is Human

My name is Human.
And I just came to say hi.
My name is Human.
Don't mind me passing by.

For, you see, I run on second hand hi's
And second hand clothes
Second hand laughs
And second and hope.

And I live on hand-me-down love
And hand-me-down hugs.
Hand-me-down shoes
And hand-me-down woes.

My name is Human.

Some days, my hand can't cease to tremble
Because inside all my heart can do is shake
And I'm afraid I'll break.
I know the wounds inside are no mistake.

And, some days my pockets are empty.
Except for my hands.
No smiles or laughs
No feelings to find,
Just hands, left inside.

I've no money to spare,
For it's already spent.
No memories to come
For they already went.

And, my name is Human.

Sometimes, my heart is too big for my chest.
And sometimes my dreams are too big for my soul.
When, oh when, will I learn to let go?

Hello again. My name is Human.

I fear for the future
But can't learn from the past.
Since my hindsight is gone,
It's so hard to look back.

But my name is Human.

And I make mistakes.
Yet I'm stabbing myself
To cut out the voices that taunt me
For every fail that I make.

I hate all my failures
Because of the pain.
But I do enjoy rainbows
Because of the rain.

My name is Human.

And I am far from perfect.
With my hair undone
And my heart on my sleeve.
I've got gum on my lips,
And scars on my hips.
I fall and I trip.

I'm not perfect.
And I've told a few lies.
And I cry
In my bed and say it's alright.

But my name is Human
And I've fought a long fight.

And if there's one thing I know
That helps me to cope,
It's that I'm a first hand me
Despite the lack of hope.

This is a really amazing and powerful poem. So many girls know exactly what you're talking about and it really strikes a cord with all of us that do.
