Nightmares

Heavy and hard to hold,
Your eyelids over your eyes,
They’re begging for the sweet relief
That only sleep can bring.
But you’re afraid, so you hold them up;
Just like your head
So high,
And you face another sleepless night,
As you try to convince yourself
That monsters only exist in your nightmares,
Though they never cease.

i love the first two lines! i also love how it kind of rhymes even though you didn't try to. for example high and night. Somehow, you've made this poem flow really really well. Great job!
