I am Not People

They say people shouldn't do that
and people shouldn't care.
because this and this and this and that
but I just sweetly glare,
because I am not people.
"people" say I should wear this,
and know what's in, what's out.
So what if I'm such a "fashion-miss"
I don't need a fat lipped pout.
Because I am not people.
I look different, and that's okay.
I am happy with who I am
Individuality is too big a price to pay
for a popularity sham.
because I am not people.
My cowboy boots, my messy hair,
are all just part of me.
In my opinion, it isn't fair,
to say who I have to be.
Because I am not people.
So you can come, insult my friends
just because we dare "hang out"
And that is where my patience ends,
so don't be afraid if I shout.
Because I am not people.
So people can be people
and some people need people,
or expect people to be people,
but I am NOT PEOPLE!!!!

I definitely agree. This makes total sense especially in today's society. Thanks! :)
