linger
she sat outside for hours
staring ahead with out seeing anything
she fell asleep there in that yellow chair
breathing the cool night air
starlight washing over her
clutching him close,
though he was nowhere to be found
she opened her eyes
she was cold, naked
a dog tag cutting into her wrist
words scrawled on her leg
she lay there crying
in the glory of the night
with the moon smiling down on her
lingering in his memory
