The Love, Mind, and Free Spirit Of A Child

a love stronger than any other
and able to make or break
any situation
their hatred is subtle
and crimes are forgive so easily
so young and naive
and innocent
fresh and clear minded
such pure souls
until middle school came
then came the insults
and hatred
the whispers in the hall
the betrayal all about
the young mind
was tattered
and worn
and hurt
and the self-esteem of the child
is so low
that it is barely noticeable
until that young mind
became dark, twisted
and cynical
