Putting On Apperances
You do it everyday,
With the make up you put on,
And the clothes that you wear.
They give you the appearance of
Gothic, innocence, popularity, or indifference.
Most importantly,
They give you an air of confidence,
The one thing you truly lack.
But make up and clothes
Can't give you confidence.
It covers who you really are.
The concealer covers blemishes on your skin,
But it can't conceal who you are within.
The foundation makes you look flawless,
But you aren't; no one is.
Eye liner and mascara can't hide the tears you shed.
You put on appearances
So others see what you want,
Not what's truly there.
You want them to see the goth, or the rocker,
Or the cheerleader.
They don't see the intelligent, beautiful person
You really are because you hide it and cover it.
Let them see who you truly are.....
