Darkness
You live in darkness.
The whole world is shut out.
Never letting anyone enter,
never letting anyone leave.
The birds will sing to you at night,
trying to help you escape from the dark.
You long to be let free.
It’s a call that will never be answered.
You travel towards the light.
Just when you think you’ve reached the end,
silky black fingers take hold,
pulling you back to the dark.
You must accept you live in darkness.
The whole world is shut out.
Never letting anyone enter,
never letting anyone leave.
