She Is Not Her
Don’t use me for your own vanity
Don’t love me for your own heart
These lips are not for you to kiss
These breast are not for you to knead
You may think because of this skirt you can have your way
You may think because of this tight shirt you can have me
I am not your property not even in the slightest
You mock me with your voice, yelling lies
How can a NO be a lie when I scream it to the heavens?
My legs are closed tight so the world doesn’t see
My hands are wrapped around this body to protect
I’m not a dim light or a caged bird you see I am free
Free from your hands that try to manipulate this skin
Here I stand not alone but with many who have known your face
They don’t tease you or cry to you, they pity your very existence
