Those who start wars, never fight them
And those who fight wars, they never like them
And those who write laws, can recite them
And those who fight laws, they live and die by them

Man made love
Meant to perfect
Gadgets and gizmos
Completing their souls

First of their kind
Born on secrets kept
And lies rehearsed
Two robots beat the odds
And found love

The Adam and Eve
Of complex technology
They were proof of perfection
Literally made for each other
Love at first sight

The pure Adams soul
Was programmed by
Little forgotten Lucy
Who was left broken a few times too many
Wanted to be noticed but didn’t make a sound

She did her job
She made him all she ever wanted
So eve wouldn’t be broken
So she would last with the beauty
Of her metal features so fake and so beautiful

The robots were together
Every second of everyday
Love for each other exceeded
For there was only one other to give it too

Lucy was gone as soon as they were brought to life
Leaving the factory to forget about her failures
She was required to return
For progress checks
And presenting finally to the judgmental public

Perhaps his metal heart was too far left
Perhaps his eyes weren’t adjusted correctly
But love developed a new focus

His hear never truly belonged to eve
Little forgotten Lucy who wanted her love to show
Gave his heart to both
And left him torn in the end

Her return showed Adam his true love
And broke Eve’s heart
Never to mend again
