I LOVE YOU DAD
Twas close to noon on a midsummer's day,
the harsh sunlight whipped across his face;
A cry so sweet killed the silence sworn,
with a beautiful baby girl,a dad was born;
He taught her to to crawl,he taught her to talk,
with candies as a bribe,she learnt to walk;
Her fussy food habits drove him insane,
but all he had were smiles to calm her mane;
She grew a little and then a little more,
now he knew ,she was all he lived for;
Her tantrums got louder,she demanded the stars,
only he could convince her to lower the bars;
He returned from work & she would say,
"I missed you daddy,how was your day";
She would run to him with the prizes she won,
he would plant a kiss & say "sweetie well done".
Years flew by,teenage set in,
enter drama queen,the biggest in the kin;
He moulded her ways with patience,
now she could spend a whole 10 minutes in silence;
Dreams are dreams,but when times were worse,
he forfeited his & fulfilled hers;
how to repay him,she would never know,
so she writes this ode to tell him she loves him more
