fearing fear

As I opened my little brown eyes
And yelped out my first cry
And let down my first tear
And took my first breath
I felt like I was in the middle of the ocean
Chocking on water
Yelling for help
And no one came. .
When I turned 16
When I opened my eyes that special day
I hoped for change
For strength
I took my first step out of bed
And I collapsed down on my two knees
I didn’t gain strength
I didn’t change
It was no different
I was still yelling for help
And still no one came
All I could do is get back up
Walk on by
And act like I was ok…
