I hear the birds chirping above,
As I stroll through the valley,
I feel the soft green grass,
As they tickle my tiny toes,
The grasshopper’s mummer a melody,
I listen intently,
I try to understand what they say.

As I look above at the sky,
The fluffy clouds form shapes above,
I giggle at the sight.

As I am observing nature,
I am interrupted by the tractors ahead,
I stare in horror,
As they murder trees to form a house.
I feel mortified.

As I walk back,
Beneath the fluffy clouds,
Passing the singing grasshoppers,
Over the soft green grass,
Past the chirping birds,
I wonder,
“How can humans be so cruel?”
