Will She Ever See What Is Really There?
She looks into the mirror.
Seeing a fake reflection.
Tears begin to fall.
Reality won't kick in.
No matter how hard she tries.
She can't seem to see through everyone else' eyes.
They say she's skinny.
That she's beautiful.
All she sees is an ugly fat kid.
She listens to the crude remarks people make.
Her closest friends try to tell her otherwise.
It's no use.
The lies have sunken into her skull.
Burned themselves into her memory.
Haunting each day.
Will she ever see what is really there?
