"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."
--Harriet Tubman

Cruel, but determined
Severe, but so gentle
Controlling, yet weak
An oblivious synopsis I tell you.

A new whipping day by day
A beating for it is their way
Regulations, policy
Those who break them shall pay.

I see it every day,
Yells, cries begging for mercy
If only freedom existed,
Like it does in democracy.

Nobody to stop it,
Continous and sustained
Let me break free,
Before I am hanged.

Let me run free from tyranny,
Let nobody stop me,
Let’s go back to manifest destiny.
The word is coming to an end,
It’s so damn controlling
It’s like I’m on house arrest,
Waiting for the liberty bell to ring.

I’m so caught up in lies,
Not knowing the truth
I am programmed to be naïve,
I don’t know what to do.

Hatred and sorrow,
They fill my life
They are my life,
My life is destroyed.

Like the twin towers
I’m in 1942,
When I’m lost in the sea,
The salt is so sour.

I feel so lost,
I’m buried in groans
They took my life away,
It was too much to condone.

Tyrants, evil, those bastards,
Created a world like Nazi Germany,
So horrible how they treat us
And our cries can’t be heard.

I am angry and upset,
Depressed and disturbed
I suffer from angst,
This life is absurd.

If only it would end,
The suffering, the tyranny
I would fight for my life
Until I lay in my grave, dead.

Unfortunately, it will not stop,
Even as I write this verse,
Or finish this poem,
Not even the strongest man
Could kill the despot.

My knowledge of the holocaust and an idea of live in a communist country gave me the inspiration to write this piece.
