"When you come to the edge of all that you know, you must believe one of two things: either there will be ground to stand on, or you will be given wings to fly."
— O.R. Melling (The Summer King)

I was sitting by the riverside
Thinking of your face
The only regret that I'll admit to have
Is knowing that the dream had faded
Before I even woke to see your smile
One last time
But as the water flows
My hope returns to me
And I'll be able to see the past
As more than just a memory
So I'll take a picture
Of what I look like now
So when you see me down the road
I'll remember not to slow down
I'll give a nod
But nothing more
Turning the radio up a little louder
To forget what it was like to hear you
And I'll smile then
Because I'll know
That I will be alright, even on my own.

When I post a new default pic on facebook I write little poems for it. This is one of them.
