Fled with the Wind

Full to the brim
That jar was
With words seeping through it,
Promises kept in it

You spread these words like butter
Luring us in
Too strong to resist
Whispering unbelievable stories
Our minds full of ideas
Blissful as ever
Eyes wide like saucers, listening to you
Your words that hung in the humid air

The words intrigued me
Everything was possible
Swimming through our minds
Dancing out your lips

Slowly, the glow faded
The jar leaked
Words crawled out and about
Promises swayed to the wind

Empty, everything fled from it
Secrets are soaring untamed through the air
The words so delighting, promises so giant
Now there is nothing more than a broken jar
