The Siren
You’re an image of deceit
So beautiful on the outside, but so hideous within
So alluring and attractive, but so vindictive
You’re nothing like the image of perfection you portray
You sit atop a pedestal
Looking down to scrutinize
Or looking up in self-glorification
We’re all waiting for you to fall
You think of yourself as a gift
As a blessing to those who surround you
As a treasure to us all
But you’re a curse
You’re like a siren
So alluring and attractive, but so vindictive
Coaxing us with your outer beauty
And then killing us instantly
You might as well be a mannequin
Because at the end of the day
You’re nothing more than a pretty face
Nothing more but everything less
