"There are three rules to writing a novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are." W. Somerset Maugham

Lesson eighty-three,
Distributive property and exponents,
All around me,
Rules with no exception,
No twisting or bending,
There is no redemption,
Never different,
I don’t understand,
Everything has an explanation,
This is so bland,
Why can’t I make sense of it?
This is my question
Sincerely I wonder
My humble confession
Is it really just letters and numbers?

Inspiration struck while in the middle of the Algebra lesson. I couldn't concentrate until I wrote it down.
