every day
i sleep til noon
at the very earliest

just so
i can
stay up

every night

i feel so alive
when every one else
is dead
to the
world

i enjoy
knowing

that no one else
shares this special
time

that it is
mine

and mine alone

there is only
me
and my
thoughts

to fill the empty air

it gives me solace
knowing

that while
every day
i am a misfit
and outcast
a "freak"

every night
i am free to be
me
