Take another step

Take a step and beneath your feet
Lay leaves left to crumble.
You drop my hand and let me go
Now fall is almost over.
For winter is coming and new changes arrive
That is what you said to me.
Things come and go, they arrive and depart.
Now it’s time for us to be apart.
Don’t fall so hard because there’s no way to regard.
Just take another step,
Don’t listen to the leaves beneath you crumble,
For if you do you’ll realize it all.
You’ll be that very leave crumbling.
Take another step and keep on walking
forget those leaves behind you.
