Briar Rose

Blackened hands tear through the ground
Breaking out no longer bound
Angry thorns puncture the skin
Petals red pour from within
Temptation sprouts into desire
Seduction melts into the briar

Among the bush a woman lies
Soft pale lips, fluttering eyes
Long dark hair in elegant plumes
Upon her breast a flower blooms
Scarlet proves internal strife
Vines constrict her fragile life
A fatal kiss steals her last breath
And thus she fades into her death

The sky bleeds rain down all about
Rose within and rose without
The maiden melts not with a fight
And the garden has a feast tonight

This is good. =) Check out my work?
