A time for love
A time for lies.
Don’t defy me, October skies
Though leaves may fall,
A timeless gaze
Fails to succumb to those riveting days
When laughter’s eternal
and flowers are shy
silently awaiting the inevitable good-bye.
Wishing, wanting
hoping, waiting
for the sun to melt away
Behind the trees
crimson drips
upon my heart, upon your lips
Back to the place
Where I will lie
Please deny me, oh October sky.
