Colton
I've built up these boundaries far too long
The only things I've ever let slip
Even the faintest idea of what I feel
Would be my eyes
And now my words,
I can't get you off my mind
It's like you've been stitched there
My eyes can't help but drift
Over the ocean painted colors of your eyes
The golden shimmer in the highlights of your hair
The specific placement of each freckle
My eyes play connect the dots
Scanning over the aesthetics of them
I must stop.
But no matter how many times I've begged
To lose these feelings
This yearning for something I could never have
You hook me back onto you like heroin
I want to just confess it all to you,
So that maybe the rejection could end my heart's bleeding
But I'm afraid,
That you will keep my heart regardless
