Long before these tears,
You could find joy within me.
He stole my smile,
Left behind my shattered heart,
Abandoning my sad soul.

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write this after a situation happened in my life that left me feeling exactly how this poem describes. I was able to write it down and felt much better in the end.
